SEND ME

4 years ago I asked you to send me to a place where my life will change, where I can see you and all the goodness it can offer coming from you.

Now, it had been days since I had been pondering about going home and taking a leap of what I can do and what I ought to do.  I have plans but I always love it when it’s you working in my life, laying the path before me and even leading me to get there.

Send me Lord where I can continue to serve you.
Send me with a humble heart to obey your will.
Send me with an excited heart, looking forward to plant seeds.
Send me with a stretched hand, willing to walk with a newbie.
Send me with the armor that you have equipped me here.
Send me gracious with what you have given during my stay here.

Yes, I am anxious with the level of contentment I will have in the new place where you will be bringing me.  But I would rather remind myself that YOU have sent me and remember your promise in Matt 28-19-20 that you will be with me until the very end.

Let me not be blinded with the material needs and wants Lord.  Let me trust in you that you are my ultimate provider.  Jehovah Jireh.

Let me walk with wisdom, not clinging onto other’s decision nor my own decision.  Let me hear you direct me in every step that I should be taking.

I will be taking this path with a firm decision.  I wouldn’t like to think of it as a new life, but just a new challenge.

Isiah 54:10 For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken," says the LORD, who has mercy on you.

I am claiming your mercy and grace Lord.

Send me.

Amen.

Running is something to be thankful for

I haven’t run in a while because of the good sleeping weather.  I guess it had been 2 months since I last ran.  I just thought about this locomotion activity when I suddenly missed wearing my running shoes.  And so I thought of 5 things that I am blessed for in running.

1)     I am blessed because I can run – I was born with an inborn cyst.  My Mama told me that the first time I stepped on foot was when I was 4 years old after my final operation.  I am not really sure if it was a cyst but it was something colloidal hanging on my left butt with 1 liter of puss inside.  Some skin problem I guess.  I am blessed I can walk straight, not limping or anything imbalance.

2)     I am blessed to be in Singapore where running is freely done.  I have always wanted to jog in my hometown but because people found it weird to see a woman running early in the morning, I did not do it.  It can cause rape or accident down there.

3)     I am blessed to be able to buy a running shoe!  I am using Asics GEL-DS TRAINER 16  which costs about SGD200.00 the time I bought it.  The price is a lot for a shoe, especially if I am not earning enough.  One thing for sure, if I work in Philippines I will not be extravagant enough to buy a shoe as expensive as this.  I am thankful I have enough to buy one pair.

4)     I am blessed that I have time to run.   Yes, Singapore has a busy life.  But I guess everyone is health conscious enough to understand the need to run.

5)     I am blessed with people who have encouraged me to run.  I have always been a settler of what I am used to and a bit of hesitant to try new things.  Yeah, running is a not a new thing but it is a lifestyle to keep.

How I value running may not be same with how people view it.  Common, what about running?  There are just simple things we do every day that we are forgetful to be thankful for, like running.
